PYO DAHLIAS PERMANTLEY CLOSED

How It All Works

  1. Park up and take it all in! Walk through the big gates and slowly make your way down the flower corridor, past the colourful flags to the hut at the end where we give you our warmest welcome. Disabled parking available closer to the hut, if needed.

  2. Pay for your jar or bucket, or show us your Gift Certificate at the hut (cash is preferable, but bank transfer is available), where you will be introduced to one of the Dahlia Kids.

  3. Either Milly, Gracie or Lexi will give you a quick tour of the dahlia patch, remind you of the rules and demonstrate how to cut the dahlias and explain how to find the best quality blooms.

  4. Take your time to wander the gardens selecting your flowers. Take lots of photos (to share on our Facebook page). No hurry! Enjoy yourselves!

  5. Come back up to the hut when you have finished to order any food or drinks you may like or just to say "Thank you" and "Goodbye".

  6. Sit down and enjoy your refreshments while soaking in the environment.

  7. Share your experience with your friends and family to help us continue doing what we are doing!

Things to Remember

Creating memories is what we are all about. However, there are a few things to remember at Green Footed Kiwi to make it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Please wear shoes. Standing on a bumblebee is not an enjoyable experience.

  • Our scissors are sharp. A no brainer, but needs to be mentioned for safety reasons.

  • Listen to the Dahlia Kids' introduction talk. It's the polite thing to do.

  • Please be responsible for your own children. We love seeing kids have fun, but we do not offer a babysitting service.

  • The paddocks are out of bounds. although cute, and probably trying to be interactive, our animals are not part of the dahlia experience. Please do not pet them. Please do not go into their paddocks.

  • Well behaved, friendly dogs are welcome on leads. Please pick up after them and keep them away from the horses.

  • Drive carefully. The driveway is not ideal!

  • You are welcome to take as many flowers as can fit in your jar or bucket. Our seeds, however, are the core of our business and we consider taking them stealing from us.

  • Be kind, friendly and courteous to others enjoying our special experience. It really does add the icing on the cake.
